Dr. John Korolewski, The Dental Health Coach, was born in Milwaukee and raised in Mequon, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He completed the Advanced Training Program in Dentistry at Meriter Hospital in Madison, where he remained a member of The Meriter Hospital Dental Teaching Staff until 1994. Dr. John became a dentist to help people have a better future through better dental health.
“My grandfather was a dentist in a small town in Wisconsin, and told stories of the lives he impacted in his community through the care he gave them. Every day in my practice, I look forward to serving our patients by helping them meet their own goals. These goals may be to maintain their good dental health as a part of overall health, relieve discomfort, eat the foods they enjoy, or have a confident smile.”
Dr. John believes in customized, individualized dental care based on dental wellness and longevity. He also believes in teaching people how to create dental health for themselves, as opposed to just treating symptoms and problems, giving real control to patients where it belongs. As a result his approach is health-centered, taking the whole person into consideration. In addition, the practice is patient-focused, where ample time is taken to develop a relationship for the purpose of understanding and pursuing the patient’s dental health goals.
A lifelong student, Dr. John regularly attends many continuing education courses during the year with special interest in treatment of complex dental problems, TMJ disorders, tooth wear and cosmetic dentistry. He enjoys helping people with issues ranging from simple preventive and restorative care to more complicated dental issues. In 2007 he completed the curriculum of study at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, generally regarded as one of the premiere post-graduate comprehensive dental training experiences in the world. In February 2016, Dr. Korolewski will be among the first to have completed an 18 month curriculum at The Texas Center for Occlusal Studies and Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He will also join the Teaching Staff there as Adjunct Faculty.

I love being able to use my skills and talents to help people. I enjoy getting to know our patients and allow them to get to know me. This process helps to develop a trust and a relationship between us. I really like the opportunity to get to know so many different people. It really gives me a sense of accomplishment to be able to help someone.
What do you like most about your co-workers? “We all work very well together. We truly ARE a team! We are all on the same page. We get along very well on a social basis, so this makes work fun and I think we all really respect each other’s opinions.”
What do you like best about dental assisting? “Working outside my home gives me a chance to interact with different people. The added income allows my family extra opportunities we may not be able to have if I was a stay at home Mom. I also like being a part of a great team.”
What do you like most about Dr. John? “He really truly values the opinion of all of us. He gives us the freedom to be able to work independently and solve our own problems. He really trusts all of us and is a member of our team.”
What do you like to do when you are not at work? “I have two young children who keep me very busy! I am fortunate to be able to work part time 4 days a week, which gives me a lot of time to be able to spend with my family and volunteering at our kids’ school. My husband and I enjoy gardening and we try to get away camping with the family whenever we get a chance. We also spend a lot of time with our family and friends, there is never a quiet moment around our house – we are always busy doing something.”
Favorite Patient Story: “I really enjoy seeing patients “transform” in our practice. Several years ago, a single woman in her early 30’s had not been to the dentist in many years. She was very scared due to some bad experiences in the past. During her interview with Dr. John, she got very emotional about being there and was crying. She was one of the most nervous patients I had ever seen in our office. After many years and talking her through a significant amount of dentistry, she is now choosing to have dentistry done, asking “when can we do the next step?” She moved to IL and now drives several hours to come see us. Seeing how far she has come really is impressive.”
She is one of our Dental Health Coach team members. She has been working with us since 2013 and has been working as a dental assistant since 2006.

Gina’s favorite patient story! We have a patient that I struggled with because she would come in time after time and have heavy plaque and food debris each time. It got frustrating and I was ready to give up. We got a new technology at work that measures plaque and her eyes and ears were opened and she responded well. My frustration turned to feeling like I finally broke through whatever barrier that I had with her. This was rewarding. I think we have a great office to work in, I am fortunate to work with such wonderful people. Our technology is top of the line and very helpful when trying to move our patients toward health. We have a lot of tools to work with that makes my job easier. We all work very well together.
